Diamond Key Lodge is located at the mouth of the Key River, on the Georgian Bay. Situated 3 ½ hours from Toronto and 45 minutes North of Parry Sound, we are located between Britt and the French River, giving us access to some of the best fishing in all of Ontario. We launch at #69/400 and the Key River and arrive at the Lodge by boat access – it is a beautiful ride. Whether you are targeting Pike or Walleye, Bass or Muskie, as you boat down the river, you will see sheer rock cliffs and weed beds – a wonderful start.    You can either fish the Key River or start your fishing at the Lodge – your choice. Specifically, we fish the mouth of the Key River, Sand Bay, the Pickerel River, Henvey Inlet. We are right in the 30,000 islands and for those with larger boats; one can reach the French River and Bustards as well. However, the best fishing is within 10 minutes of the lodge so there really is not a reason to go great distances.

Getting here is easy as the highway is well marked.   For our American visitors, you are in for a treat.   Actually, the majority of our guests are from the U.S., travelling in groups to come and experience the wilderness, fishing and great times.   In terms of supplies, there are several towns and cities along the highway where you can stop and pick up groceries, supplies; and a liquor store right on the highway.

The North East Corner of Georgian Bay and the North Shore Delta of Pickerel and French Rivers are a treasure. They are now protected by the Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve http://www.gbbr.ca as well as the French River Provincial Park system. http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/fren.html. We are within eight miles of the historic Bustard Islands. When we say 30,000 islands, we aren’t exaggerating.   Just as important, our area is famous for large Northern Pike, trophy Walleye and an abundance of large and smallmouth bass.  While we tend not to target Muskie, they are out there – hunting, and each year a few of our guest get a pleasant surprise.

Once at the camp, Diamond Key offers a panoramic view of the Georgian Bay and the many islands and shoals to the West. The main lodge and cabins have been carefully planned to ensure everyone’s privacy. All have a view and those beautiful sunsets; the entire property faces west. The best fishing is within minutes of the lodge, all in protected waters. We like to say that once you are at Diamond Key, you will feel the serenity of a fly in fishing camp, but at 45 minutes north of Parry Sound, much more convenient.

Our services at the Lodge are tailored to meet the needs and pocketbook of nearly everyone. While housekeeping guests may choose to bring their own supplies and prepare their own meals, many fishing groups find the Modified American Plan to be the most convenient.   Either way, we offer the cleanest cabins in the area – on this Maggie insists.

Thank you for considering Diamond Key.  Whether you are considering a fishing holiday, kayaking in a group or a relaxed family vacation, we will do our best to ensure you have a great stay.
